Hi All, hope your Thursday is going great, Mine is I have just been out for coffee with my dear friend and stamping buddy Chris we did a bit shopping and home to craft, just the sort of day you gotta love.

I haven' pulled the copics out for while so I had this urge to do some colouring so I found this cute little digi stamp from Sarah Kay and decided to use the sketch from Try stamping Tuesdays, I kept the sketch pretty much to form and this is what I came up with...

I really love the country feel to this one, the paper is from My Minds eye along with some River Rock and Not Quite Navy.

Freshly Made Sketches #21

Hi All,
It's been a bit of a busy week this week so been a little slack in the blogging.
But I have managed to whip up this little note book for a lovely friend of mine who is heading over seas for a months holiday, (Keep safe Anita and Enjoy!)
I used the sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches as a guide...

She was happy with her little book and has already started using it with important things to remember while away.
I have used the Up Up and away set from PTI and some papers from Kaiser Craft.

Colour Throwdown #177

It's been a long time since I have played along with the girls over at Colour Throwdown, and since the colours this week were perfect for the Love Month theme I am on at the moment, I thought I'd give it a go.
Here's the colour pallet for the week...

It's soooo striking... Don't you think??
And still with my I Heart stamp set out this is what I came up with....

Bit camera shy was the black, but you get the idea, I really need to brush up on the photo skills, If any one's got any pointers or web sites to help I would really appreciate the link.

I love the sketches at Try Stampin' On Tuesday they are always easy to play along with, the sort you can really jazz up or twist or keep them just as they are.

I kept it pretty much to plan only flipped the ribbon...

I thought this was a perfect card for that someone special on Valentine Day.

Mojo Monday #226

Well as promised back with the other card I made used the Morning cup Stamp Set from Stampin' Up!
This time I played along with the sketch from the Mojo Monday Blog which looks like this...

Now I am not big on making round cards and as for square well, will the excuse "I didn't have an envelope to fit" do???
But anyway I adapted it to fit your stardard card size and this is what I came up with...

I have also tipped the sketch on its side,
I have used the same image as the last card and colourred it with my copics again and have used My Minds Eye, Stella and Rose papers and the greeting is from a PTI stamp set called UP Up and away.

Well finally we have had some sunshine here so I have taken pics of all the cards I had made lately so I have plenty on hand for blogging, so hopefully I should be able to keep your interest going for a little while.

The Paper Players #80

Hi all,
Yep back again with another update.... on a bit of roll here and hoping I can keep it going!
I have played along with the sketch from The Paper Players this week,
So here is the sketch.....

It was really easy to work with.... and this is what I came up with.....

I have used the Morning Cup and Teeny Tiny sentiments stamp sets along with the colours Old olive, Peach Parfait and Espresso. I have coloured the image using my copics.

So while I had this stamp set out I played along with another sketch challenge, but you will have to come back tomorrow to see it can't give away to much in one day now can I. lol.

More Aviary

Howdy all,
Well I mentioned in the last post I had made a couple of cards using the Aviary Stamp set but in fact I had made three, so as promised I am back with the others to show you...

This one was with the colours Poppy Parade, Crumb cake and Not Quite Navy

While this one I used Real red, Crumb cake and believe it or not that is Bashful blue, sorry the lighting is really bad as we have had no sunshine here for over a week now, but I am not complaining as we need the rain and it's good on the sorghum!

Long time between drinks

Hi all,
Yes I am still alive lol .... I know it has been along time between drinks so to speak but I do have a few good reasons for you to forgive me.
The end of last year was a big one for us as as we had 3 children at 3 different schools which meant three lots of all those end of year activities, plus 2 of them were graduations.
I will start at the top... Our oldest Boy Jake graduated from year 12 at Toowoomba Grammar School,
Here is a pic of him and his lovely little girl Tessa on there way to the Formal...

We are so very proud of him and now he's off to Uni to study Engineering, Boy it sure makes you feel a bit old when they start leaving school.
Next the youngest Boy Mitch graduated from Grammar Junior, and is now off to Senior school...
In which I can inform you he is settled in great and loving it.
Then the youngest Em finished year 5 and went into year 6 at our little local school in which this will be her last year there before she too is off to the big smoke next year.
So you can see with all those end of year concerts and dinners etc that keep us very busy leading up to Christmas, then the festive season flew by as usual, but this year I also had the treat of spending time with relatives from Longreach which doesn't happen very often, so that was lovely.
Also leading up to and straight after Christmas is our busiest time on the Farm, so amongst it all I had to slip on the work boots and help Hubby with our winter harvest of wheat and planting of our summer sorghum crops which I might add for the first time in a few years Mother nature is being kind to us and they are looking really good.
Then it was a quick get things ready for the new school year with all that dreaded book covering and shoe buying etc... before we then headed off on our annual trek to beach for a few weeks...
Which was just what the doctor ordered to get over all the goings on.
Home again and straight back into the new school year, so with all the Children settled back this week I finally had time to dust off those much neglected stamps and get them inky again and update this poor old neglected blog.
So after all that I had better show you some of what you are really here for...

For this one I have used the Aviary Stamp set and the colours River rock, Cherry Cobbler and Marina Mist.
I did make a couple in this combo but will save the other one to show you later in the week.
So there you have it.... I hope you all enjoyed your silly season and summer Holiday's as much as I did mine.

Over at Just add Ink this week the challenge is to make a card using white and just one other colour and I have also matched it up with sketch at Sweet Sketch Wednesday....

Don't fall off the chair now, I am back again. I thought I would get in early this week for the challenge at Try Stampin Tuesdays as I missed cut off last week. I always love there sketches they always seem to work well.

I have a bundle of new stamps that arrived from PTI while I was down and out and could only look at them ;o(
so I was itching to dip them in some ink, and one was this cute little set called Sweet as can be....

Well off to town now to watch the oldest compete for his spot in the Darling Downs team for Discus and 110m hurdles.

Firstly I would like to Thank all of you who either left well wishes on comment or Thank you for all the lovely emails I received.
In the end it was confirmed as a bulging disc, I am feeling so much better now, I do have bad days where my back is a little sore or days when my arm/hand is numb or tingly, but we're hopeful this all should come good with time and lucky its the left side so not to debilitating.
But the best news is I am back at the craft desk, Yeah!! I have missed it sooo much and what better way to get the mojo going then challenges....
Over at Just at Ink this week their challenge is something from your stash..... Ha where does one start!!!
I pulled out this fabric tape, can you believe my hubby found in a throw out bin at Spotlight (yes he scowls through those bins whilst waiting for me, what a treasure!) anyway it was to cheap to leave, (so he thought anyway), and has since been sitting on the shelf waiting for some use....
So here it is... the bargain fabric tape at its best....

And while I had it out and was actually enjoying using it I made this one for the sketch at Try stamping on Tuesday but missed the cut off, but here it is anyway...

Well I might pop over to Try Stamping Tuesdays and see what this week is and get a little more organized...

Good Excuse

Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to pop in and let you know that this time I really do have a good excuse for being so slack on the blog updates and comments on all the blogs I usually stalk.
About three weeks ago I was in sooo much pain in my left shoulder/ back I could only get off the bed to get to Doctors appointments. After xrays and CT scans it is possible I have a bulging disc in the upper of my spine this will be confirmed or not after I get my MRI results on Tuesday.
Because of the pain I have been unable to sit at my desk or the computer, but I am coming better each day also with the help of some Bowen, so I am sure it wont be too long till I am back into it, but until then I thought I had better pop in and let you know I am still around just quite on the craft front.

I made a card the other day when I was planing an up and coming workshop, I wanted to use the technique of markers to stamps and when I had made it I loved the bright colour of the flowers against the white back drop so much that I decided to make a few in different colours.......

So when I had so many made I thought they looked so good together that they should be in a set
so I decided that was their fate.
Here is the box I made to hold them all....

Then while I was on a roll I make some smaller note cards similar.......

Sorry about the pic of these ones but my batteries just went flat and living out of town does sometimes have its disadvantages, like when you can't just slip down to shop.
But anyway back to job at hand,

Yes it was a long day in the office that day, with all that colouring of stamps but I really think it was worth it, what do you think?

Clean and Simple # 149

Yeah Yeah I know, back again, two posts in two days, it's a near miracle, but don't get to excited it probably wont last although I have a slow schedule for a few weeks now so who knows I may just surprise you.
Anyways on to job at hand, the sketch at Clean and Simple this week looked rather interesting...

and the new papers I got last week from My minds eye were screaming to be used, so this is what I came up with...

This sketch would also look great turned on its side, why don't you have a go and then pop over to Clean and Simple and check out what everyone else came up with.
I feel its to cold to craft today my little fingers are like ice blocks, we have a wind chill factor here today of minus 2, hopefully the sun will pop out later and warm things up but until then I am off to the fire.

Finally time for challenges, and I am just scraping in by minutes for this one at Try Stampin on Tuesday's....
Here is the sketch they gave us....

Now to look hard this card could send your eyes a little funny, but I just love the country look paper, which is from Kaiser, the Red Heart paper and Thank you stamp is from Stampin' Up! and the cute little cherry stamp is from Everyday button bits ( PTI.)
So I better rush off and enter this card over at Try Stampin on Tusdays as I think it is down to just minutes to go... You should go and check out the DT cards this week they are all really pretty too.

Still Here

Ok Ok I am slack I admit it, but it has been school holidays..... and yeah I know... that's no excuse so I will just get on with the post.
I am hoping to make up for the absence by showing not one but two cards!!!
So here is the couple of cards I did the other day...

Now I cased using these colours with this stamp set from the very clever Alisa Tilsner, I found them in one of my old editions Stamping and Paper Craft Magazine, but I am sure if you check out her blog here they should be on there somewhere and who knows what else you may find along the way because she does such beautiful work.
The colours are Old Olive, So Saffron, and Riding Hood red with the Aviary Stamp set, all from Stampin' Up!
Best be off, hopefully back sooner than later!

Happy Birthday Mitch

Monday was my middle child Mitch's Birthday, he turned 12 boy how the years fly!
This post is a few days late, but no I didn't forget his birthday, I just couldn't post it before as he is one of my biggest fans, and checks Mum's blog for updates, and if he would have seen the card before we gave him his pressie it may have given it away...

because we got him a Siamese Fighting Fish, He has named it Sid and he loves it that much I have to check at night it is still in its tank, as I am sure he would take it to bed with him if he could.
Any way here is a quick peep at my handsome little (oopps Big I should say) 12 year old....

So Happy Birthday Mitch, I know you had a great day!! Now we just have to do the roller skating thing over the holidays (ohhh my poor bottom).

First Digi Stamp

I don't know why it has taken me so long to jump on Digi stamp band wagon, but now I have I think I am hooked, it is such a cheap way to get your images.
This is the very first one I purchased. It is from KennyK downloads.

I have coloured her with my copic markers, which I am off now to order some more, (so addictive!! they are dangerous!!) lol.
Sorry about the picture with the funny little lines on it, but it is very windy out side so I had to shot it inside and believe it or not the lines are from the fly screen on the window, but it is the only bit of sun I could find.
I have backed her with some Blueberry Crisp DSP from Stampin' Up! and used More mustard, Night of Navy and Riding Hood red.
Any way off to buy those copics...

Clean and Simple FTL 145

With finding plenty of time to stamp lately I went on the challenge site surf again and found this sketch at over at Clean and Simple ...

And this is what I came up with...

I went with Pretty in Pink card stock and DSP, Chocolate chip card stock and ribbon and little bit of Crumb cake all from Stampin' Up! the flower is some dies from PTI and the stem is from a Flower Fusion set from PTI as well.
Now I haven't forgotten to show you my first Coloured Digi stamp that I mentioned last post, I just wanted to enter this one first so trust me there is more scheduled for later in the week *wink*

ColorLab Color Challenge #45

I don't know about where you are but boy have we been cold!! In fact too cold for me to even venture to my craft room which is a little too far away from our fire, I tried one day and my hands were so cold I literally could not tie a piece of ribbon in half, But it has warmed up a little during the days so I cranked up my little heater (which did not cut it a few days ago let me tell you!) and I have finally created! Yeah!
This weeks colours at the ColorLab are way to bright for me, so I thought it was great for a challenge,
Here are the colours...

See what I mean very bright Hey??
But that's what we surf the challenge sites for... A challenge...
And here is what I came up with...

As soon as I seen these colors I knew I wanted to finally ink up my Cup cakes from PTI,
I have even added some glitter! (shock horror for me!) I have also used Mat Stack collection #4 from PTI.
Well I am off to colour my first Digi stamp, will be back tomorrow to show you.

Try Stampin' on Tuesdays #17

Finally blogger is being nice to me! even letting me leave some comments around the ridges.
I have had a little time this morning at my desk so I thought I would play along with some challenges,
This week the sketch at Try Stampin' on Tuesdays looks like this...

Now I have decided its time to visit some stamp sets I have been neglecting lately, so the mission is on to blow off the dust and and let them live again, and the first to see daylight was Fifth Avenue Floral....

I really do like this set but got a little bored with it, but now I have brought it to life again with my new copic markers, I have used R20,R32,R35 and R37 I love the shading affect they give.
I have also used a little sentiment from Teeny tiny sentiments, I have inked my embossing folder on some soft suede and used a little Espresso, If you have any questions just flick me an email.
Better be off to do the dreaded house chores now since this is my first day home all week and will be out all weekend.

Bright and Fun!

Today I have a very bright and fun card I made, I thought these colours would pick up the feel in the old craft room....

I am really happy with it, yeah!! I think that mojo is slowly making its way back...
It's hard to see but I have sprayed the flower with smooch spritz to make it sparkle! along with the colours of Melon mambo Tangerine tango and old olive. The greeting is from PTI Big bold wishes stamp set.

Well off to the hairdresser now with full intentions of going short, but I have said this the last two visits and always chicken out!! but I think its time for some changes!!

Colour Throw down #143

Well the lack in posts has many excuses, some including computer problems, blogger being troublesome, and probably the main reason is just plain lack of mojo!!
So to try and get it back I thought I might play along with Colour Throw down this week, here are the colours they gave us to play with...

And this is what I came up with...

Now you can see... were oh were has that mojo gone lol, It didn't turn out anything like it was ment too, but then I thought hey something at the moment is better than nothing!!
I have been doing a lot of catering for our sports days at school lately and while in the catering supply shop picking up some coffee cups I came across these cute little paper doily's, they were only $1.80 a pack so now I have 250 of them lol.
I have also used PTI tea for two stamp set, Hero arts saying stamp, and Tres chic Stampin' Up! stamp.

Better go and work on that mojo...

Sweet Sketch Wednesday

Good Monday Morning to you all...The start of another week already, But for the first time in ages I have nearly a free week Yeah!!! more stamping time.
I decided I need a few boy cards in my stash so I used the sketch at Sweet sketch Wednesday this week to make this cute little rocket card...

The rocket stamp is from the Pun Fun stamp set from Stampin'Up! along with the Real red card stock and Night of navy card stock and ribbon. I have also used the Polka dot stamp set from PTI and there new set Grunge me for the subtle mess in the back ground (a little hard to see in pic) and of course I have coloured the rocket with my copics, have I told you how much I love them lately lol.

More Colouring with Copics

I told you a few posts back I would show what else I had been colouring with my new Copics...
So here is another cute little pic. This one is a Stamp called A kiss for Chloe from Sarah Kay.

I just love the way these pens blend and are so easy to use, I am currently in process of choosing some more colours to purchase and let me tell you it is a process!! I spend days looking at that big colour wheel its starting to send me dizzy lol.
I just wish we had some classes close by, the nearest I have found is Brisbane which I don't mind to travel to but they are booked out until July! So I guess it's back to good old U tube!!

Try Stampin' on Tuesdays #13

Happy Mothers Day to all, I hope you all enjoy a stress free day, which would mean no Children fighting, mine try hard we usually get to about lunch and they finally have had enough of looking at each other politely and someone has to start... but hay that's part of being a Mum refereeing and you know we wouldn't have it any other way really! (Would we???) lol

Over at Try Stamping on Tuesdays is a sketch of course for you to play along with again this week, and this is what I came up with...

I have gone back to the Morning Cup stamp set from Stampin' Up! it seems to always call my name when standing in front of my stamp shelves picking what to use. I have coloured it using my copics and I have used So Saffron, Chocolate chip and Whisper white card stock along with some double stitched chocolate chip ribbon all from Stampin' Up! as well.

Scattered Showers

I found a challenge site a few weeks back that I thought was right up my ally... I Love to Stamp...it's Monthly!! Now I thought great! I am sure to get this one done on time, but where does the time go??? here we are a new month again, So I miss the cut off, maybe next month! Anyway since I did it, I might as well show you...
This was the sketch

and this is what I came up with...

I have used the very cute stamp set from PTI called Scattered Showers along with some 6x6 DSP from Kaiser Craft. The colour combo is Old Olive and Rich Razzelberry from Stampin' Up!
Now I had some scraps let over and have decided that after my clean out I was going to try and use scraps straight away in stead of letting them build up (yeah like this is going to last lol) but anyway I am off to a good start I also covered another little note book...

So I hope you like, and may be I will get next months challenge done a little quicker!!

Sweet Sketch Wednesday

Here's the sketch at Sweet Sketch Wednesday this week...

I got a nice little parcel from the States yesterday full of some cute little stamps including some from Tilda Town I know the Australia Dollar being so high is not good for the exporting trade, but boy its good for the pocket on craft shopping at the moment!! You have to be mad not take advantage. I think I have already spent my yearly allowance and each day as the dollar goes up, I have a good excuse to buy more!!
Any way this is my card for the sketch...

Sorry the Pictures not so good but it is late afternoon and the sun is fading fast...I have used my Copics to colour her of coarse, I also have used a PTI flower die with some felt and I have also used Bashful blue and Pretty in Pink DSP along with Crumb cake and Whisper white card stock from Stampin' Up! also the greeting is from Short and Sweet a Stampin' Up! set.

Copic Markers

Well I finally took the plunge after weeks of looking at colour charts and U Tubes, I purchased myself some Copic markers, and all I can say is...I just love them! there's no going back now I am totally hooked.
I already NEED more colours lol.
Well here is one of my first attempts, still need a little practise on the shading, but they really do the work them selves...

This is a little note book again, my 9 year old daughter helped so much over the holidays with the cleaning of the house I thought this would be a nice little Thank you (along with the pocket money they all seem to put their hands out for lol), she is so into all things stationary. I have made a few more of these I will pop them up later to show you.
Now all my house is cleaned and the kids are back at school I should have a bit more time for creating and blogging!

Happy Birthday Jake!

Today is my oldest son Jake turns 17, Boy time flys, We couldn't be more proud of the fine young man he has turned into...

So now we are over a year of learner driving and tearing my hair out! and on to the stress of having him venture out on his own. So I guess whats left of my hair will be turning a lighter shade of grey fast!
Any way on to what your really here for, some crafting creations...
This is the card I made for Jake...

I have used the PTI stamp set called enjoy your ride, along with the wood grain back ground.
Colours I went with Stampin' Up! Not quite navy, crumb cake and Peach Parfait. You can't see it very good in the pic but I have added little rhinestones on the headlights to make them look more realistic and I embossed the woodgrain on the white card behind the car.
Now for the second card on today's post,
This is one my youngest son Mitch aged 12 made for his big brother, I think he did extremely well.

He chose the colours of Cajun, turquoise and wasabi himself and made the entire card on his own including doing the colouring. The fisherman catching a boot is a bit of joke with the boys as they go down the back to the creek to muck around but never seem to catch anything worth bringing home so Mitch thought this was an appropriate stamp to use. I am sure he would love your feed back.
Off to make my Birthday boy his favorite caramel tart for dessert tonight.

Colour Throw down

Well even more new goodies I got from Paper Trey Ink.
This stamp set is the Tea for Two set plus the wood grain back ground, I have covered a note book this time...I have chosen the colours from Colour Throw down this week.

I also love the fact that most of the stamps from PTI have dies to match so more cutting!! yeah - oh no - now what will I do in all that spare time! lol.
I have chosen Tangerine Tango (slowly becoming one of my favorites and marine mist which is my all time favorite blue at the moment and I have also used some crumb cake.
Off to play some more yeah!!

Clean and Simple

Well I told you I would be back with more goodies, don't you just love getting new stuff.
This weeks sketch over at Clean and Simple took my eye as something a little different - go and have a look, Any way this is what I came up with...

I chose the colours from the Stampin' Up! colour coach, not normally ones I would put together but I really liked the end look, they where Real Red, Bashfull Blue and Crumb Cake, I love using the colour coach as it lets you step out of your comfort zone but yet still feel a little safe, if you know what I mean.

Look what I got to play with!!

Well finally my first shipment of goodies to play with from Paper trey Ink, I have admired there stuff for soooo long that I decided that while the Aussie dollar was so high, it was time to take the plunge (now I am totally addicted).
This set of little stems is from Every day button bits, I just love it all the stamps have little spot to put buttons or in my case flowers....

I have used the sketch from Try Stampin on Tuesday, if you love a good sketch challenge go and check them out. I have used Old Olive and Melon Mambo DSP paper with some Olive satin ribbon.
Well I am off to play some more with my new goodies I will be back later to show you more.

Inkspiration #64

Well it's Sunday and can you believe I had a chance to stamp!! It all started while doing a little blog surfing and leaving a comment at my friend and fellow stamper Karen G,s blog on her entry to the Inkspiration challenge this week, which is a colour challenge, I commented how difficult I would find the colours to work with and then realised that is exactly what a challenge should be... so I was determined to do this one, here are the colours....

Now the Mustard and Cajun are my kinda colours but throw in the brightness of that Poppy parade and you got a challenge, any way this is what I came up with...

I decided to tone done the Poppy by stamping off a bit, overall I ended up happy with the result.
So now I better get back to the Sunday jobs or the kids will look very unloved going off to school tomorrow with unironed cloths.

Try Stampin' on Tuesdays #8

Now don't fall off your chair, but yes two posts in one day, I think this is nearly unheard of, but since I have been neglecting this old blog for while I thought way not!!
This week at Try Stamping On Tuesdays is sketch go and check it out also while your there have a look at some of the great work the design team does, a very talented group of ladies.
Any way this is what I came up with from the sketch this week...

I have used pretty in pink, Pear pizzazz and espresso along with the Upsy Daisy stamp set and the butterfly from Flight of the Butterfly. The ribbon is Pear Pizzazz I have to admit I am not real keen this ribbon I find it hard to work with. Well I am at the desk today so off to find something else to challenge this old creative mind of mine.

Easter Baskets

With Easter just around the corner I though I had better get onto making some gifts,
So I have been on the basket making the last few days and it just so happened that at Just Add Ink this week the challenge is just add a box or a bag, so it all worked in great!
So here's the first one....

I have used some retired Stampin' Up card stock of pale plum, and some DSP out of my stash not sure where it came from that's how old it is!, I am doing well at having a clean out using up retired or old stashed stuff.
I have made a few more different little baskets so I will pop later and post those.

Just Add Ink #61

This week over at Just Add Ink is a challenge to Just add stamps, and nothing else which means no ribbon ;0(
so this is quite a challenge for me but I came up with this....

I have made this card before using Red and Black and it was stunning, I don't think it has quite the effect in Black, Tango and Suede, but I wanted to add it to a card pack I am making in these colours.
Any back to the house work I brushed off during the week ;o(

Since I haven't had much stamping time lately I thought I would be sneaky and get two challenges out of one card. The first is a colour from Keesh at Inkspiration Challenges...

Then I used the sketch from Try stampin' on Tuesdays...

and this is what I came up with....

As you notice it's a little covered note book again, I love doing these as little gifts for friends or family.
I haven't had much stamping time this week, but today I have to be at home to wait for the chippie to come and install a new screen door... Now there is plenty of house work I could be doing... but I really feel some stamping time is needed more, don't you think? So its back to the desk now to see what else I can come up with.

Now on receiving this I am to tell you 8 things about myself and pass it on to some of my blogger friends,
I will keep this short and sweet as not to bore you too much...

1. I grew up in the city, but since moving to the country to be with my Hubby I could never again go back, call me a country girl through and through.
2. I too like the other girls, am very particular about the toilet roll and yes Patrice I too have been know to change other peoples roll when visiting.
3. I don't watch any TV at all... nothing really interest me (or should I say the sports Hubby is watching doesn't interest me lol)
4.I spend far too much time in the car (as I am sure most Mothers do) some weeks I can travel more 300km and that's just Monday to Friday.
5.I love paper crafting and I love the friends I have made from it.
6.I have been card making for over 10 years now, boy time flies.
7.I love the smell of rain and fresh mowed grass,
8.I LOVE cadbury chocolate nearly as much as I love stamping!!

Inkspiration #61

I found a little time to squeeze in a challenge or two this week, the first is Keesh's over at Inkspirations,
This is the sketch for the week...

and this is what I came up with...

I also threw in another challenge here, In our group of Demos the lovely Ailsa puts a challenge out to her customers each month for a bit of fun but she has also let us in on the act, so who am I to knock back a challenge when offered. Her challenge for this month was Black and White with a bit of one colour, I think I may have added a little more of that one colour then I was suppose to though! oops! Sorry Ailsa ;o)
but it is still just black and white and one other colour ;o) Now I also challenged myself ... not to use ribbon, which I seem to have to use on every thing lately and boy it was hard... don't you think it would have just made it with a nice big black or red bow, I really feel like something is missing.
Well any way a day at home today to spend at the desk making a card or two with lots of ribbon on them. lol

Elements of style

I had a lovely Birthday on Thursday and Thank you to all of you who commented or emailed me Birthday wishes.
I spent the morning drinking far to much coffee and eating far to many goodies with my my good friend and stamping Buddie Chris, This is the beautiful card she made me...

I have been telling her for ages now she really needs to get her own blog to show off these wonderful creations of hers!! and of course here we are... (mind you not a good photo of me I kinda look in pain maybe that was from to much cheesecake Yum!)

I spent the afternoon with my Mum and had a lovely Thai dinner with the Family to end a wonderful day. Lastly I want to share a special Birthday card made especially for me from my 9 year old daughter Emily...

She is coming along nicely and will be in line to take over the card making business from me any day now!!

For this card I chose to case Danielle as I have learnt a lot from her, including how to make the bow on my card! Her blog has lots of great Ideas so check it out.

Clean and Simple

I did have time to sneak in another challenge on Friday but I didn't have time to photo it or post it yesterday, but here we go today... I liked the look of the Clean and simple sketch this week so decided to give it a go, this is the sketch...

I turned it on it's side and this is what I came up with...

I went with the Upsy Daisy and Flight of the Butterfly stamp sets, and I'm not sure if you can see it or not but there is a bit of glitter on the tips of the flowers and and butterfly, yep shock horror I used some glitter!! Those of you who know me know I can not stand it lol, I hate every thing about it, the feel, the mess, just every thing!

Try Stampin' on Tuesdays #3

Sorry I haven't had a lot of time to create this week, as we had a long weekend away at Brisbane where my eldest boy competed in the State Championships for Discus and on Monday he had further testing for the Navy so we thought staying down there made more sense than driving back and forward for the three days, then Tuesday was that day when you come home from being away for awhile and within a matter of minutes the wash basket goes from empty to bursting at the seams (I can tell all you mothers out there are nodding your heads right now lol) And to top off a busy week it was my turn for Tuckshop duty on Wednesday.
But I have been itching to get to my desk to play along with Try Stampin' on Tuesday's sketch this week as it is such an easy one that the mind can go a million ways around it, take a look....

Now I am on a bit of a mission at the moment to use up some old supplies so I pulled out the Brocade blue ribbon I had left and worked the colours from it, going with Crumb Cake and Cajun Craze.

This is the first time I have used my Morning Cup stamp set and liked what I have made. I hope you like it to?
I may just have enough time to fit in one more challenge today if I make it snappy before going to pick up the kids for swimming lesson, will be back tomorrow to show you.

Try Stampin' on Tuesdays #2

I wanted to get in early this week with the challenge at Try Stampin' on Tuesday since I was a little slow at it last week at missed the cut off. This week is another sketch....

and this is what I came up with...

I went back to one of my favourite stamp sets Flight of the Butterfly I cut them out and popped them on the reeds from Inspired by Nature, all this done on Riding hood red and Pretty in pink, and there is that pattern stacks paper again! in the subtles range, it comes in so handy I can't wait till the rest of the colours arrive, I am out storking the postman each day now lol.
Off to do some real work!

Well I seem to be on a bit of roll lately with the blogging thing, hopefully I can keep it up now school has gone back and we are all in our little routine.
I found this new challenge site called Try Stamping on Tuesday run by Cherylann Robinson of Canada, its so new this is the first challenge, and it is a sketch, you can go and check it out here, but anyway this is what I came up with...

Happy Valentine's Day

Hi Everyone,
I hope you are all having a lovely Valentines day and getting nice and spoilt!!
I just wanted to share with you what my son has been up to for Valentines day...
He and is girlfriend Tess decided between them to make sweets for sweets, so my son Jake took over the kitchen yesterday, and with only a little help on how to make icing he came up with rest all on his own, so with out further ado......The sweets for his sweet

Now he did such a good job at making these little cakes, it was up to Mum to come up with a box to put them in, so this is what we came up with...

He didn't want to put a card with it he just went with the little tags on the box, here they are up close....

So all and all I think Tess should be pretty happy with her sweet treats bake by her sweets....

Now that's enough of all this sweet talk, I am about to sit at my desk hopefully till school pick up time, so I may even get some challenges done.

Inkspirations Colour Challenge #56

See I told you I would be back with my other challenge, you had little faith in my return didn't you?
But I had to find something to do while I am waiting for paint to dry!! We have just renovated our Bathroom so now its my job to paint the trim ;o( Does anyone really like painting! So anyway while I am waiting to do the second coat I got around to taking the pics I needed to enter this weeks challenge over at Inkspirations, it is also a colour challenge so I lucked out with any sketches this week but the colour combo Keesh has picked is fantastic...

Not a combo I would have come up with but I love it, I will be defiantly be using it again,
but to start with this is what I came up with...

I have just purchased one of the colour collections patterned paper stacks page 127 of the Ideas Book and catalogue and I don't know why I hadn't done it sooner they are fantastic, think about it... a piece of patterned paper to go with every colour... how good is that and they only work out to be around .95c each for a double sided piece of 12x12 now that's a bargain! So now I have to add the rest of the colour families to shopping list!!
Any way back to that painting.

Just Add Ink # 54

Hi All, Yesterday I had a chance to sit at the craft desk most of the day so I decided to do a few challenges.
The first one I played along with is Just add Ink, this week is a colour challenge which I struggled a little with I much prefer a sketch.
Here is the colours they gave us to play with...

Now I have been making some gift sets lately for Mothers day... I know how organized is that!!
So I did one in these colours...

Here's a pic of them standing alone to have a better look...

Even though the colours are not what I would have picked to put together I think I like it.
I have used the Vintage vogue Stamp set and the matching wheel.
Best go and enter it now, I will be back later with another challenge entry for Keeshs this week just got to take some photos.

Just Add Ink #53

It has been a while since I have played along with a challenge, and at Just add Ink this week is an Inspiration Challenge here is the pic you have to take your inspiration from...

Pretty isn't it, but I did find it a little hard, but had a go anyway and this is what I came up with...

I am not completely happy with it, I think it is the fact that yellow is not a colour I use offen.

I have used the Upsy Daisy stamp along with a sentiment from Teeny Tiny Sentiments, Card stock is Wild wasabi and Marina Mist which I ran through the Big Shot with the Textured Impressions Embossing folder which is in the current Summer Mini and only available until the 31st of March.

Hopefully now school is back and all is back to normal I will get to play a long with some more challenges.

You didn't even miss me!

Well I just arrived home from two weeks at the Gold coast and you didn't even miss me thanks to the beauty of scheduling posts. We were away when the floods hit, and I would like to let every one who was effected in any way no matter how small that my thoughts and prayers are with you, and I hope you get back to normal as fast as possible.

Now for some stamping...I have a few Birthdays coming up so I thought I would make a start on some cards for them.

This one I have used the Aviary Stamp Set which is only available until 31st March in our Summer mini ...

I have also used the love letter Dsp from our Ideas book and Catalogue, This would nearly be one of the most beautiful paper sets I have come across, very elegant and regal.
Now I got a little creative and stamped the inside of my card as well, I really like this idea and I am going to try and do it more often. So here is the inside of the card...

Just Believe

Hi there everyone, I just wanted to show a card I made recently,

I have used the Just Believe stamp set which I absolutely love, would have to be my fav at the moment.

I have coloured the image with certainly celery and pretty in pink markers, I have mounted that on early espresso card and paper pieced around it for a nicer looking boarder, I have also used soft suede and whisper white card stock and added that beautiful satin ribbon in espresso.

Little get away

Here's a card I made before Christmas but in all the mad rush forgot to post it.

As you can see it wasn't a Christmas card, you know how it is when you are making so many of the same thing you just have to have a break and make some thing way off what your doing.... So this was my little get away from all the Christmas stuff!!

I have used Rose Red, Pink Pirouette, Early Espresso and a touch of Wasabi and Craft on the wing and leaves.

When ever I show my Hubby a card and ask what do you think, the usual reply is yep thats great Honey...

but he also always gives advice on how to make the next.... you should do this and that!! and I always walk away saying yep easy said than done dear...

But OMG I caught him the other day perched up at my desk helping himself to all he could lay his fingers on!!

He even worked out the Big Shot!! (shows how much spare time he has on his hands with all rain around) and I must say for his first and I would properly have to say last attempt he didn't do to bad...

So with out further ado, let me present My Hubby's card....

The circle is cut out with the bird being on the inside of the card...

I really liked the Idea so I ran with it and made my own, I will pop back with it in the next day or two.

Mosaic Techniqe

My sister-in-law asked me to make her a card for friends Birthday. I knew she was into Mosaic and Lead lighting so I found this technique...

You start by cutting up back ground rubber that comes with your stamp sets, and stick the pieces to a block to form the Mosaic look. Than stamp an image of choice in my case the rose from last years hostess set, and colour it. Then stamp your Mosaic stamp with versa mark over the top and clear emboss. Then use a stamp pad, colour of choice and rub it all over, now you should be able to use a tissue to wipe the excess ink off the clear emboss and be left with the colour in between. Pittsworth Craft Fair

Well it seems I had forgotten to show you a picture of our little table at the Pittsworth Craft Fair.

I did this one with my good stampin Buddie and great friend Chris, for three days we perched ourselves behind here and enjoyed the every bit of it.

When I said little table I wasn't joking, but we did seem to cram a lot into our allocated spot.
Not much inking of stamps lately ;o( but as soon as I do you will be the first to see it.

My upline Lisa gets us together once a month, this is to help each other learn some new stuff but I think we eat more chocolate, drink to much coffee and have a tonne of laughs instead. Occasionally we have a challenge/swap and this month we had to find a picture from a catalogue or magazine to draw inspiration from, now I don't buy magazines and when you live out of town the only catalogue we get in the paper is Wow or JB HiFi and we all know that when we think of these we instantly think of the bright red yellow and blue, so that is what I ran with, and this is what I came up with...

A little boring I know but hey so are those catalogue's!!!

Friends Never Fade

I just wanted to pop in show you a card I made with the new stamp set Friends never fade, I really like this set but when I got it out to use... nothing!! So I struggled on and on and sat and looked and thought about it for while, and after all that this is all that would come...

Now the old Mojo has been a little slow lately from all the craft fair cramming, but in the end I don't mind it, it's growing on me I think it's the colours Orange is not me, what do you think?

Well off to do my once a year flutter on the horses and have a gala lunch with some good friends at a Melbourne cup luncheon. Hope you all back a winner ;o)

Stampin Royality have a great sketch this week to play along with and Just Add Ink is pretty much up to your imagination with the theme Just Add Birthday, So I used the sketch from Stampin Royality and made a Birthday card.... so you see I get two challenges out of the one creation!

Boy am I loving that satin ribbon it is just so easy to work with, and looks so pretty.

Inkspirations Sketch Challenge #45….

I just love a sketch challenge, and this week Keesh gave us great one to play along with ....

I was originally going to stick with the plan and use a heart, but decided to flip it to landscape and this is what I came up with...

I used the old faithful Upsy Daisy Stamp set with some old olive striped ribbon and some Pretty in Pink satin ribbon, now this satin ribbon is to die for.... If you don't already have some you don't know what your missing Just Devinne!!

Well, I seem to be on a roll with the eye candy this week, Have to keep my good friend and stamping Buddy Chris happy!!

Very soft and pretty don't you think, the first thing I thought was Baby! So how I came up with this one is beyond me...

Once again I have used the Just Believe Stamp Set and the Tres Chic back ground which is now retired ;o(

Inking up some new rubber!!

Hi All,

Once again I apologises for lack in the posts, I have been run off my feet with Craft fairs etc... No excuse I know.

But finally I got to ink up some new rubber that has been screaming out "use me please" for some days now. Now this month is Anxiety and Depression Awareness Month and Just Add Ink ran a challenge to raise awareness, go and check it out. The challenge was to just add blue, now I was a little slow at uploading my card and missed the challenge cut off, but because I feel strongly about supporting I still played along....

This is what I came up with, using what I think will quickly become one of favorite stamps sets - Just Believe!

Well today is my first full day at home in 16 days, and boy it feels good, I don't think I have moved from my desk all morning and I am not planning to move for the rest of the day, (I hope the maid brings me lunch lol). Hopefully I will whip up a few more things to post for you later.

Spring into the country

If you have been wondering were I have been, I was springing into the country at the Geham craft fair and wow what a fantastic weekend I had. My upline and friend Lisa and myself spent the two days there and we had a ball not only meeting and chatting with customers but the other stall holders as well. Here is a picture of our little stand. Now I can't wait till next year already!!!

Now I thought when this was over I could rest.... but not quite, now I am preparing for the Pittsworth Craft and Fine Food Spectacular on the 8th, 9th and 10th of October, yep three days. If your in the Toowoomba area you should really check it out as it is a big event with a wide range of craft stands.
So any way back to the cramming.

Birthday time

Seems the only time I have to make just a card lately is when its someones Birthday, and today is Sophie's Birthday...

I was saying that some colours are camera shy, and it seems Elegant Eggplant is one of them, it seems to want to come out nearly black all the time and to make things worse we have been having very overcast days, not very good picture taking weather at all.

Last Sunday Hubby and I celebrated another Wedding Anniversary (boy how the years fly by) and my good friend Chris never forgets, in fact I think she remembers more than Hubby does!!!

Just A Card

Finally.... after making so many Boxes and bags and card packs, I wanted to just make a card, and here it is...

I really enjoyed the little break and was quite happy with how it turned out, its a little hard to tell but I coloured the daisy's with mambo and eggplant and gave them olive stems.

So now back to it more 3D things for the fair!!

Box in a Bag

I told you I would be back today to show you some more of what I have been up to...

Yesterday I mentioned to a friend that I hadn't made a card just for the sake of making a card for a long while now so that is what I set out to do but the Box and Bag Bug caught me before I could finish it, so instead I whipped up these cute little box in a bag's the template can be found on Split Coast.

And yes they are headed to the markets...

Maybe I will go and try that card now, I know I have a few Birthdays coming up!! so I really should get on to them before its the last minute cram the night before!!

Introducing Maude & Edwina

Well anyone who knows my Sister-in-law, will know that having Children was not on her list of ambitions in life, so when she told me I was going to be an Auntie to twins you could have knocked me over with a feather!! BUT as the conversation went on I soon realized these where no ordinary girls they had four legs and a tail.... So with out further ado I would like to introduce my new nieces Maude and Edwina....

Aren't they just the cutest little things......

And this is Maude....

You just gotta luv em!!!

So hopefully now I can repay my fabo sister-in-law baby sitter hours!! She really is a the dotting Mum, in fact I think she is properly worse than what I was with my first Child!! lol

So congrats Rick and Tracey they are just beautiful...

Spring in to the Country

Well I have still been extra busy busy preparing for the big Craft Show on the 18th and 19th of September, which is Carnival of Flowers weekend here in Toowoomba... The Craft Show is called Spring into the Country at Geham State School just north of Toowoomba and runs from 9am to 5pm both day, if your in the local area and are interested check out their web site check out there site.

Well on to what your really here for the pics.....Here is a few gift bags I did up yesterday

The large one uses two pieces of DSP Pink Flamingo, the small ones are made from one sheet of DSP.

While I am here I want to remind you that there is only two days left to get any orders in for the last chance sale, as of 1st September you can no longer order from the 09/10 Catalogue, so if there has been anything you have been thinking about getting you better get in soon or you will miss out!!!

I haven't had a lot of time lately to just make a card, as I am getting ready to attend a craft fair in about 6 weeks, that's why you have been seeing a lot of card packs and 3D items from me lately!
But I needed to make a couple of cards today, and what better way to get the mojo working than to join in a couple of challenges, at Just Add Ink this week is a colour challenge and here is what they gave us to play with...
The first card I made was a Thank you card for a friend, so it will be sent off in the mail tomorrow along with some new goodies for her play with. I hope she likes it... I was happy with how it turned out. What do you think?

Firstly I apologize for the lack in posts but our Internet connection has been soooo slow of late it wouldn't load my pictures to my blog, On further investigation I found the darling children had used our limit for the month so we then don't get charged more we just get knock back in speed, you gotta love the little darlings wanting to play all their games and download music! Makes me mad what ever happen to listening to radio or playing the single record over and over,
the one you saved your pocket money for all week!! (boy does that show my age!)
Anyway enough rattle, now we have started a new month so I am top up with speed to burn,

I must firstly apologize for lack in posts lately, I have no other excuse apart from the same old one we all have LACK of time!! and to think the years half gone already.
I have got another gift card pack to show you its the same template I used last time, but this time I have used So Saffron Riding Hood Red and Chocolate Chip. Stamp sets used Vintage Vogue and Friendly words wheel.

Inkspirations Sketch # 31

This week Keesh gave us a sketch to work with...

On studing it for a few days not sure what to do... I decided it had a male look to it, and I needed to make a Birthday card for a friends son, so thought I'd kill two birds with the one stone (as the saying goes). So this is what I came up with...

I have used Tempting Turquoise, Chocolate Chip and Sahara Sand which I seem to be using a lot more of these days.

Well I really should be doing end of year book work, but wanted to sneak that one in first, so now its off to hit the books.
